Festivals: call for entries

Team of the Forum for Young Cinema "Hope" finished accept The Entries from directors of the CIS, but it continues to receive The Entries from the Kyrgyz filmmakers


The Forum for Young Cinema "Hope" ("Umut") will be held 28-31 of the October 2016 in Bishkek. The Forum has support from The Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (IFESCCO).


It will be four competitons: 2 International - short fiction & short documentary and 2 National - short fiction & short documentary.


The First International Film Festival of the short films "Navsoz"


It will be from 16 till 20 of the September 2016 in Dushanbe.


The First National Film Festival for Children and Youth "Karek"


It will be on the 15th of the November 2016 at Manas cinema.

    Ernest Abdyjaparov's new project "Sayakbay. Homer Of The 20th Century" was selected into Busan's Asian Project Market


    The 21st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) will run Oct 6-15, with the Asian Film Market Oct 8-11 and APM Oct 9 – 11.


    Asian Project Market 2016 (APM), the largest investment and co-production market in Asia, selects 27 official projects for its 19th year.


    The APM 2016 presents these new projects for 3 days starting Sunday, October 9 to Tuesday October 11 at the BEXCO Exhibition Center II in Busan.

    Maren Ade's "Toni Erdmann" Wins FIPRESCI Grand Prix 2016


    The FIPRESCI Grand Prix 2016, awarded by the International Federation of Film Critics to the best film of the past year, goes to "Toni Erdmann" by Maren Ade. The German filmmaker will collect the award on Friday, September 16th, at the opening ceremony of the San Sebastian Film Festival, where the film will also screen as part of the Pearls program.

    A Father's Will will be shown three times at the Montreal World Film Festival


    The 40th Montreal World Film Festival will be held from the 25th of the August to the 5th of the September 2016. 


    World premiere of the new Kyrgyz movie A Father's Will (Atanym Kereezi) will be on the 30.08.2016 at 6.50 pm.


    The second screening at the Montreal WFF will be on the 31.08.2016 at 4.30 pm.


    The third screening at the MWFF will be on the 01.09.2016 at 6.50 pm.


    A Father's Will by Bakyt Mukul and Dastan Japar uulu will be shown at the festival section First Films World Competition.
