Kyrgyzstan to participate in the Festival de Cannes

The new film of Aktan Arym Kubat “Svet-ake” (“Light Thief”) is included into 63rd Festival de Cannes that will take place from May 12th to May 23rd 2010.  The film will be shown within the programme “Director's Fortnight”.

The script is written by Aktan Arym Kubat together with well-known Kyrgyz scenarist Talip Ibraimov, winner of “Russian Prize” for the collection “Old Man and Angel”.

The main character of the film is cheerful electrician kindly named Svet-ake by countrymen. He is kind-hearted and open person who brings into the life of peasants not only electricity but the light of love, faith, life and laugh.
