Kyrgyz film receives second prize at Istanbul International Film Festival
The film of the Kyrgyzstani director, graduate of Manas Kyrgyz-Turkish University Alizhan Nosirov “Kyshtoo” (“Nomads Camp”) received the second prize of the Istanbul international film festival of the Turkish TRT television company.
The 28-minute film shows the life of mountaineers’ family. In spite of severe conditions, they manage to live in harmony with nature.
According to her, the Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s Cinematographers’ Union Artykpai Suyundukov noted that many world corporations such as, for example, Al-Zhazeera and BBC, got interested with this film and expressed intention to show it on their TV channels. The film also received a special prize of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey at the festival.
As Film expert Gulbara Tolomushova noted, the Director of XIII annual international film festival in Maine (USA) Shannon Haines invites Alizhan Nosirov to participate in the work of his festival that will be held from 9 till 18 July 2010.
