On February 1, submission for the XX Kazan International Muslim Film Festival started. The submission will last till June 1, 2024. The Selection Committee will finish its work by the beginning of July. After this, the official selection will be announced.

Synopsis. When Azat is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he does everything he can to make sure his family will be comfortable in the future. While Azat and his brother Bek spend their limited time together, their mother fights to save Azat’s life.

Information about Director Sultankazy Pirzhan Uulu:

 

Originally from the city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan, Sultankazy moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to pursue a career in film. Focusing on directing, script writing, and producing, he enjoys all aspects of the film industry and since 2015 has been an integral part of the Asian World Film Festival team. During 2017 Sultankazy worked at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival as a Production Coordinator. In addition, he has spent the past 6 years as a volunteer for various non-profit organizations in Kyrgyzstan and the United States. "A'll Be A Star" his debut.

Established in 1983 by VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS, the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (LAAPFF) is the largest film festival in Southern California dedicated to showcasing films by and about Asians & Pacific Islanders around the world. We were recently named one of “The 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World, 2017” by MovieMaker Magazine!

 

The Festival presents approximately 150 films and mediaworks that celebrates Asian Pacific filmmakers and stories. The Festival’s highlights include an Opening and Closing Night Celebration, a Festival Centerpiece presentation, a full complement of industry panels and workshops, and a variety of special events. The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival is an Academy Award®-qualifying festival for Short Film Awards. Recipient(s) of the Film Festival’s Golden Reel Award for Narrative Short Film will be eligible for consideration in the Animated Short Film/Live-Action Short Film category of the Academy Awards®.
