CANADIAN SHORT SCREENPLAY COMPETITION

In the Spotlight this week is the 3rd Annual CANADIAN SHORT SCREENPLAY COMPETITION (CSSC). Established in 2008, CSSC strives to champion screenwriters everywhere and prides itself as a launching pad for writers' professional careers.

CSSC offers one of the highest-paying cash prizes for a short film screenplay contest. First-Place winners receive $2,500 CAD and an iPad. What's more, the top honor at CSSC is a production deal, with CSSC producing the winning screenplay with an experienced director, professional actors, and top-notch crews and equipment. Second- and Third-Place winners receive $1,000 and $500, respectively, with ten follow-up winners each receiving $100 cash awards.

The top 13 finalists receive accreditation to attend the Yorkton Film Festival, which includes attendance to all industry workshops, seminars, and forums, as well as access to all films, awards galas, and special dinners.
