§2. The Festival program

Seminars, discussions and an exchange of experience between experts on tourism, artists and the press. Ancillary events, including expert sessions, social, cultural and commercial events.

There is no restriction to the length of a film.

§3. Applicants

Applications can be submitted by marketing and communication professionals from corporations and public relations agencies, services, public sector (ministries, city halls, public institutions), film producers and film makers, production companies, multimedia companies, TV stations and students.

To participate in the festival, the submitted material must be completed after 1 January 2012.

§4. Deadline

The deadline for entries to the second edition of Baku International Tourism Film Festival is 1 May 2014.

§5. Online Entry Form

For submission please use the official entry form on the website (http://www.bitff.az/entry-form/) of Baku International Tourism Film Festival.

Every entry can only be submitted in one category. Entry forms should be received by May 1st 2014. To complete the entry you have to add at least three stills of the film and one picture of the director.

§6. The Competition Categories

§     Culture, tradition

§     Commercials

§     Tourism services (transport, hotels, theme parks)

§     Ecotourism and outdoor tourism

§     TV Reports

All films which produced by Azerbaijan production companies will compete also for National Award.

The organizing committee and The Jury may change the category of the submitted film.

§7. Media Format

For the audiovisual competition submissions can be made via DVD or FTP. The entrant is responsible for the technical quality of the film. Please note that for your upload via FTP no uncompressed files are allowed. Formats accepted: .wmv, .mov, .mpg2 or .mpg4.

Language: Official languages of the Festival are Azerbaijani and English. If the film is not in Azerbaijani or English, we urge you to send a translated text in one of these two languages.

The completed and signed entry form of each presented film confirming the participation in BITFF, has to be received by the committee of BITFF no later than May 1, 2014.

At the same time all authors or producers who submit applications for participation in the main competition are obliged, besides sending the official statement by mail in writing and by e-mail, to send the following:

Synopsis, advertising materials, frames from the film, press materials;

Short biography and filmography of the director, photo of the director.

Without these elements of the application won’t be considered valid and completed. They are necessary for creation of the catalog of the festival.

If deadlines aren’t observed or online demands aren’t completed properly the Festival has the right not to consider the application. DVD copies presented to the selection commission for preview aren’t subject to return.

The festival reserves the right of selection of the presented films for out-of-competition screening.

The schedule of screening of films will be defined by BITFF committee.

Note: All shipping costs, insurance, customs duties and handling fees for all entries must be prepaid by the sender. We cannot assume responsibility for customs clearance.

§8. Jury

The international Jury is formed of experts in filmmaking, mass media specialists, travel and tourism experts.

The jury is chaired by the Chairman. The jury does not give any explanation for its decision, and does not accept any claim.

§9. Awards

The international jury awards the following sets:

Grand Prix – diploma, award

The prize for each of the categories:

First Place – Golden Award – diploma, award

Second Place – Silver Award – diploma, award

Third Place – Bronze Award – diploma, award

A special monetary award of 4000 Euros is given to the Director of the Grand Prix.

A special monetary award of 2000 Euros is given to the Directors of the Golden Award Winner films of each category and to the Director of the Golden Award Winner of the National Award.

Monetary awards are only given away to those Directors who actually visit the festival.

The Jury may not select any award of any category and also may select an additional entries for special recognition. The Jury does not give any explanation for decision.

Official sponsors of the Festival may also put forward recommendations for special awards.

NOTE: For all other Awards: If you are not able to attend the Awards Gala the trophy will be sent to you per mail, in which case delivery and packaging must be paid by the recipient.

§10. Payment

To apply for Baku International Tourism Film Festival no payment will be charged.

The festival committee invites the award winners and special guests to the award ceremony and takes over the travel costs as well as the costs of the accommodation, for the duration of the festival.
