On February 1, submission for the XX Kazan International Muslim Film Festival started. The submission will last till June 1, 2024. The Selection Committee will finish its work by the beginning of July. After this, the official selection will be announced.

A Father's Will will be shown three times at the Montreal World Film Festival

 

The 40th Montreal World Film Festival will be held from the 25th of the August to the 5th of the September 2016. 

 

World premiere of the new Kyrgyz movie A Father's Will (Atanym Kereezi) will be on the 30.08.2016 at 6.50 pm.

 

The second screening at the Montreal WFF will be on the 31.08.2016 at 4.30 pm.

 

The third screening at the MWFF will be on the 01.09.2016 at 6.50 pm.

 

A Father's Will by Bakyt Mukul and Dastan Japar uulu will be shown at the festival section First Films World Competition.

Synopsis:

After living as an immigrant in the USA for 15 years, Azat flies to Kyrgyzstan to his family village. His father, Murat, died in the USA a year ago. It was his dying wish to pay back the money he owed to the villagers. Azat discovers the family home derelict. Choro, the younger brother of Murat, and their relations left a long time ago. Despite most villagers not liking him. One day, Choro, who was imprisoned because of Murat, arrives and the most important question about Murat's will is decided.
